Eleasah

אֶלְעָשָׂה/el-ee-AY-suh/

Whom God made

Summary

The name of two men in the genealogical records: a descendant of Judah through Hezron, and a descendant of King Saul through Jonathan.

Descendants of This Name

Two men named Eleasah (the same Hebrew name as Elasah) appear in Chronicles. The first was a descendant of Judah, son of Helez, in the family of Hezron. The second was a Benjamite, son of Rapha (or Rephaiah), in the line of King Saul through Jonathan and Mephibosheth. This name, meaning 'whom God made,' was evidently popular in Israel.
