Baal Tamar
בַּעַל תָּמָר/BAY-uhl TAY-mar/
“Lord of the palm tree”
☩Battle Site
Baal-tamar ('lord of the palm tree') was the staging ground where the Israelite army assembled before their final attack against Gibeah during the war against Benjamin. It was likely named for a sanctuary of Baal marked by a palm tree, possibly associated with the palm tree of Deborah in the same region.
