One of the servants who conspired against and assassinated King Joash of Judah; also called Zabad in Chronicles.
☩The Assassination of Joash
Jozachar was the son of Shimeath, an Ammonitess, and was one of the servants who conspired against King Joash of Judah (2 Kings 12:21). Along with Jehozabad son of Shomer (or Shimrith), he assassinated the king while he lay in his bed in the house of Millo, avenging the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest. In 2 Chronicles 24:26, he is called Zabad. The name means 'Yahweh has remembered.'
