Shimeath
/SHIM-ee-ath/
☩Identity
Shimeath was an Ammonitess, the mother of Jozachar (also called Zabad), who was one of the two servants who conspired against and murdered King Joash of Judah. The assassination occurred after Joash had turned away from the LORD and allowed the murder of Zechariah the priest. The fact that the conspirators' mothers were foreigners (the other was a Moabitess) may have been seen by the Chronicler as evidence of the dangers of intermarriage with pagans.
