Summary
Moadiah was a priest who returned to Jerusalem from the Babylonian exile, also known as Maadiah.
☩Identity
Moadiah appears in the list of priests and Levites who returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel. He is identified as the same person called Maadiah elsewhere in the same chapter, the variation being a minor spelling difference in the Hebrew text. In the days of the high priest Joiakim, the head of his priestly family was Piltai.
