The Nature of Submission

Submission to God involves the entire giving up of understanding, will, and affections to Him. Christ's Example

Jesus provides the supreme example of submission to God's will. In Gethsemane, facing the cross, He prayed, 'Not my will, but yours be done.' Though He was the Son, He learned obedience through the things He suffered. His submission was not passive resignation but active, trusting obedience to the Father's redemptive purpose.

Key verses:Matthew 26:39-42Luke 22:42Hebrews 5:8Philippians 2:8

The Believer's Submission

Christians are called to submit themselves to God and resist the devil. This submission extends to human authorities ordained by God—governing powers, church leaders, and within household relationships—as an expression of reverence for Christ. True submission flows from trust in God's sovereign goodness.
