Justice(equity fairness)
Summary
The principle of moral rightness and fair dealing that Scripture presents as essential to God's character and required of human conduct, especially in judicial proceedings.
☩Biblical Commands
The Law commanded justice in all dealings: judges must not show partiality to poor or rich, must refuse bribes, and must pursue justice diligently (Exodus 23:1-8; Leviticus 19:13-15; Deuteronomy 16:18-20). The prophets repeatedly called Israel to practice justice, condemning those who perverted it (Isaiah 1:17; Amos 5:7, 11-12; Micah 7:3). Proverbs teaches that the Lord examines hearts and weighs motives, desiring justice above sacrifice (Proverbs 17:15, 26; 18:5, 17; 21:3).
☩God's Justice
Justice is fundamental to God's character and throne (Psalm 89:14; 97:2). He judges the world with righteousness and the peoples with equity (Psalm 96:10, 13). Through Christ, God demonstrates both His justice in condemning sin and His justifying grace toward those who have faith (Romans 3:25-26). The messianic King will establish justice on the earth (Isaiah 9:7; 42:1-4).
