Summary

A small Aramean kingdom that allied with the Ammonites against David.

Identity

Syria-Maachah was a small kingdom located at the foot of Mount Hermon, east of the Jordan. When the Ammonites hired Syrian mercenaries to fight against David, the king of Maachah contributed troops along with Zobah, Rehob, and Ish-tob. The Maacathites were not expelled by Israel during the conquest and remained within their territory.
