Location

Halhul was located in the mountain region of Judah, mentioned with Beth-zur and Gedor among towns north of Hebron. The site is identified with modern Hulhul, a prominent hill about four miles north of Hebron. Jerome in the 4th century noted its existence as a small village called Alta near Hebron.
