A priestly city in Judah near the Philistine border, where the ark returned from Philistine captivity.
☩The Ark Returns
When the Philistines returned the ark of God, the cows drawing the cart went directly to Beth-shemesh. The people of Beth-shemesh were harvesting wheat when they saw the ark and rejoiced. However, many were struck down for looking into the ark.
