Jahzerah
יַחְזֵרָה/JAH-zeh-ruh/
“Whom God leads back or returner”
Summary
A priest of the house of Immer and an ancestor of Maasai who returned from the Babylonian exile.
☩Identity
Jahzerah was the son of Meshullam and father of Adiel, a priest listed among those who returned to Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. He is probably the same person called Ahasai (or Ahzai) in Nehemiah 11:13, since the preceding and following names in both lists are identical. He was from the priestly house of Immer, one of the major priestly families.
