Post-Exilic Members

Several priests of the sons of Immer had taken foreign wives and were required to put them away according to Ezra's reforms. Pashhur, who persecuted Jeremiah, was also a son of Immer. Zadok son of Immer worked on rebuilding the wall opposite his own house under Nehemiah.

Possible Place Name

Some exiles who returned could not prove their Israelite ancestry; they came from 'Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer.' If this is a place name rather than a family name, it would designate a location in Babylonia where exiles had settled.
