Brotherly

Summary

The name of two or three men in Scripture, most notably a Levite who guided the cart carrying the ark of the covenant when David first attempted to bring it to Jerusalem.

Guide of the Ark

Ahio was a son of the Levite Abinadab, in whose house the ark of the covenant had remained for twenty years after its return from the Philistines. When David attempted to move the ark to Jerusalem, Ahio walked before the new cart guiding the oxen while his brother Uzzah walked beside it. This journey ended tragically when Uzzah touched the ark and was struck dead, causing David to abandon the attempt temporarily.
