A holy assembly called by God for religious worship, applied to the Sabbath and the great annual festivals when no work could be done.
☩Occasions
Holy convocations were called on the weekly Sabbath and during the great annual festivals: Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles. On these occasions, no ordinary work was permitted, and the people gathered for worship.
