God set the rainbow as a token of His covenant never again to destroy the earth by flood. Circumcision was the token of God's covenant with Abraham. The blood on the doorposts was a token marking the houses the destroying angel would pass over. Rahab's scarlet cord served as a token of the oath the spies had sworn.
