Human Creativity

God endowed humanity with creative abilities that lead to invention. Tubal-cain was the first metalworker; Jubal invented musical instruments. Solomon made 'instruments of music' and was renowned for his wisdom in all fields. Such creativity reflects the image of the Creator God.

Negative Usage

Scripture also speaks of moral 'inventions'—sinful schemes devised by corrupt hearts. The Israelites 'provoked God with their inventions' through idolatry and rebellion.
