Paul writes that 'the experiment of this ministration' (2 Cor 9:13, KJV) demonstrated the Corinthians' genuine faith. The Greek dokimē means 'approvedness' or 'tried character'—the same word translated 'experience' in Romans 5:4. The idea is that their liberal contribution to the Jerusalem collection served as proof of their Christian profession. Modern translations render this 'the proving of you by this ministry' (NASB) or 'your confession of the gospel of Christ proved by this ministry' (ESV). Faith is validated through its fruits.
