Dysentery
/DIS-en-ter-ee/
Summary
A severe intestinal disease causing bloody flux, which afflicted the father of Publius on Malta before Paul healed him.
☩Publius's Father
When Paul was shipwrecked on Malta, Publius, the chief man of the island, received the survivors hospitably. Publius's father lay sick with fever and 'bloody flux'—dysentery. Paul visited him, prayed, laid hands on him, and healed him. This miracle opened the door for many other sick people on the island to come and be healed.
