Zeboim was one of the five cities of the plain whose king joined the rebellion against Chedorlaomer. Along with Sodom, Gomorrah, and Admah, it was destroyed by fire and brimstone from heaven. Only Zoar was spared at Lot's request.

A valley called Zeboim was located in the territory of Benjamin, overlooking the wilderness toward the Jordan Valley. During Saul's reign, Philistine raiders went toward this valley from their camp at Michmash.
