Summary

A brook or valley on the border between Moab and Edom, which Israel crossed near the end of their wilderness wanderings.

Location

The brook Zared (also called Zered) marked part of the boundary between Moab and Edom. Israel crossed this brook thirty-eight years after leaving Kadesh-barnea, marking the end of the generation that died in the wilderness. The crossing signified that God's judgment on the unfaithful generation was complete.
