Socho appears in the genealogy of the tribe of Judah as a place colonized by a man named Heber. It is generally identified with the town of Socoh in the lowland of Judah, better known as the site near which the Philistines encamped before David's battle with Goliath. The modern site is Shuweikeh, in the western part of the low hills of Judah.
