Retribution (variant form of Shallum)

Summary

A Jewish official who helped rebuild the Fountain Gate and the wall near the Pool of Siloam during Nehemiah's restoration of Jerusalem.

Role in Rebuilding Jerusalem

Shallun was the son of Col-hozeh and served as ruler of a district of Mizpah. He participated in Nehemiah's rebuilding project by repairing the Fountain Gate (also called the spring gate) and the wall of the pool of Siloah (Siloam) belonging to the king's garden, extending up to the stairs descending from the City of David.
