Summary

The name of two men in the genealogies of Judah, one a son of Jahdai and another a son of Caleb who founded the town of Madmannah.

Son of Jahdai

The first Shaaph was the last named of six sons of Jahdai, of the tribe of Judah. He lived sometime after 1612 BC.

Son of Caleb

The second Shaaph was a son of Caleb (the brother of Jerahmeel) by his concubine Maachah. He is called the 'father' (that is, founder) of Madmannah, indicating he established or built up that town in the territory of Judah.
