Summary

Puah was one of the Hebrew midwives who refused to kill Israelite male infants as Pharaoh commanded.

Faithful Midwife

When Pharaoh commanded the Hebrew midwives Shiphrah and Puah to kill male infants at birth, they feared God and did not obey. When questioned, they explained that Hebrew women delivered before midwives could arrive. God blessed them for their faithfulness, giving them families of their own.
