Two men bear this name in Scripture: (1) A Judahite, son of Shallum and father of Elishama, in the line of descendants from Sheshan (1 Chronicles 2:41). He lived around 588 B.C. (2) The fifth son of King Jeconiah (Jehoiachin), born during the Babylonian captivity (1 Chronicles 3:18). According to tradition, his mother was Susanna. In this second instance, the King James Version spells the name 'Jecamiah.'
