Service with the Ark

Jehiah was a Levite who served as doorkeeper for the ark of the covenant at the time of its establishment in Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 15:24). He served alongside Obed-edom in this capacity around 1043 BC. Some scholars identify him with Jeiel mentioned in 1 Chronicles 15:18, though the names have different meanings.
