Summary

The name of two men in David's time: a Levite head of Shubael's family, and an overseer of the royal donkeys.

The Levite

Jehdeiah was a Levite, head of the family of Shubael (or Shebuel), a descendant of Moses through Gershom (1 Chronicles 24:20). He represented his family's class in the arrangements made by David for Temple service around 1014 BC.

The Meronothite

A second Jehdeiah was a Meronothite who served as herdsman of the royal she-donkeys under David and Solomon (1 Chronicles 27:30). The Meronothites were apparently from a town in the territory of Benjamin.
