Jamin Son of Simeon

The most prominent Jamin was the second son of Simeon and grandson of Jacob. He is listed among those who went down to Egypt with Jacob's family. His descendants formed the clan known as the Jaminites, one of the divisions of the tribe of Simeon.

Other Men Named Jamin

A second Jamin appears in the genealogies of Judah as the second son of Ram, who was descended from Jerahmeel. A third Jamin was one of the Levites who helped explain the Law to the people when Ezra read it publicly after the return from Babylon. He is identified with 'Iadinus' in the apocryphal 1 Esdras 9:48.
