Whom Jehovah made, or they will perform

Summary

An Israelite of the family of Bani who divorced his foreign wife after the return from Babylon.

Post-Exilic Reform

Jaasau was one of the 'sons' of Bani who renounced his Gentile wife after the return from Babylon in compliance with Ezra's reform around 459 BC (Ezra 10:37). This was part of a widespread effort to separate the returned exiles from foreign marriages that Ezra identified as contrary to the law.
