☩Descendant of Saul
Eshek was the brother of Azel and a late descendant of King Saul through Jonathan. He was the father of several sons, including Ulam, who founded a large and notable family of archers—literally 'treaders of the bow,' meaning they could draw powerful bows. His family had 150 sons and grandsons, suggesting considerable prosperity. This genealogy appears in Chronicles but is omitted in the parallel list.
