Ben-Dekar ('son of Dekar') was one of twelve officers Solomon appointed over all Israel to provide food for the king and his household. Each officer was responsible for one month of the year. Ben-Dekar's district included Makaz, Shaalbim, Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan in the western foothills.
