Builder

/BIL-der/

Summary

One who constructs buildings, used figuratively for God's work in establishing His people and Christ's building of the Church.

The Rejected Stone

The psalmist's prophecy that 'the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone' was fulfilled in Christ. The builders represent Israel's religious leaders who rejected Jesus, yet God made Him the foundation of His spiritual temple.

Key verses:Psalm 118:22Matthew 21:42Acts 4:111 Peter 2:7

Divine Builder

God is the ultimate builder. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Abraham looked for a city whose builder and maker is God. Believers are God's building, and wise teachers build upon the foundation of Christ.

Key verses:Psalm 127:1Hebrews 11:101 Corinthians 3:9-14
