/DYE-uh-dem/

Summary

A royal headband or crown symbolizing sovereignty and authority, worn by kings and used figuratively of God's glory.

Royal Symbol

The diadem was a band worn around the head as a symbol of royalty, distinct from the more elaborate crown. In Revelation, the dragon and beast wear diadems symbolizing their claimed authority, while Christ at His return wears many diadems as King of kings.
