Jesus demonstrated special concern for the sick, and His followers are called to minister to them in His name.
☩Jesus's Ministry
Jesus went about healing every sickness and disease among the people. He declared that the sick need a physician, not the healthy. Caring for the sick is counted as service to Christ Himself: 'I was sick and you visited me.' The early church practiced anointing the sick with oil and prayer for healing. James instructs the sick to call for the elders to pray over them.
