Spirituality is described as 'the one thing needful,' the 'good part which shall not be taken away.' It is the state of a soul made alive unto God, covering all the faculties of personality. It is defined as love and devotion to God, delighting in His law day and night.

Spirituality brings peace to the mind and indifference to worldly goods—setting affections on things above. Spirituality is produced by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who sheds abroad God's love in the heart. The Spirit operates directly on mental faculties, enabling one to think God's thoughts and discern His purposes. When intellect, heart and will focus reverently upon Christ, love becomes ever-dominant—the character of a God-centered and Spirit-filled life.
