שִׁמְרוֹן מְרוֹן/SHIM-ron MEE-ron/
“Watch-Height of Meron”
Summary
The full name of a Canaanite city whose king was conquered by Joshua, probably the same as Shimron.
☩Identity
Shimron-meron ('watch-height of Meron') appears in the list of thirty-one kings conquered by Joshua. It is probably the complete form of the name of the city elsewhere called simply Shimron, which was allotted to Zebulun. The Talmud identifies it with Simuniyeh, west of Nazareth.
