Jair's Conquest

Jair of the tribe of Manasseh conquered the region of Argob in Bashan, which contained sixty fortified cities with high walls and bronze gates. He renamed the territory after himself, calling it 'Bashan of the villages of Jair.' The name commemorated his successful military campaign during Israel's conquest of the Transjordan.
