Location and Notable Resident

Archi appears as a place on the southern border of Ephraim, near Ataroth. Its most famous association is with Hushai, David's friend and counselor, who is called 'the Archite.' During Absalom's rebellion, Hushai remained loyal to David and infiltrated Absalom's court, where he gave advice that defeated the counsel of Ahithophel and saved David's life.
