The name of two Old Testament figures, most notably the Hittite father of Ephron from whom Abraham purchased the cave of Machpelah.

Father of Ephron

Zohar was a Hittite and the father of Ephron, from whom Abraham purchased the field and cave of Machpelah at Hebron as a burial place for Sarah. The transaction took place at the city gate before the sons of Heth, establishing Abraham's first legal property in Canaan.

Son of Simeon

Another Zohar was one of the sons of Simeon, Jacob's son, who went down to Egypt with Jacob's household. In other genealogical lists he is called Zerah.
