Zeresh
/ZEE-resh/
☩Ill-Fated Counsel
Zeresh was the wife of Haman, the chief minister of King Ahasuerus who plotted to destroy the Jews. When Haman complained about Mordecai's refusal to bow to him, Zeresh and his friends advised him to build a gallows fifty cubits high and have Mordecai hanged on it. Later, when Mordecai was honored instead of punished, Zeresh predicted Haman's downfall.
