Toi (also called Tou) was king of Hamath, a city-state in Syria. When David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, with whom Toi had been at war, Toi sent his son Joram (or Hadoram) to greet David and bless him. Joram brought vessels of silver, gold, and bronze, which David dedicated to the Lord along with the spoils from conquered nations.
