Summary

Tahan was an Ephraimite whose descendants formed one of the families of the tribe of Ephraim.

Identity

Tahan was the head of one of the families of the Ephraimites at the end of the Exodus. His descendants are called Tahanites. In 1 Chronicles 7:25, Tahan appears as the son of Telah and father of Laadan in the Palestinian lineage of Ephraim. The name means 'camp' according to Gesenius, or 'graciousness' according to Fürst.
