Summary

A Philistine giant of the Rephaim who was slain by Sibbechai the Hushathite at Gezer.

Identity

Sippai was one of the sons of the Rephaim (the giants), killed by Sibbechai the Hushathite in battle at Gezer. In the parallel account in 2 Samuel 21:18, he is called by the equivalent name Saph. His death was part of a series of conflicts in which Israel's warriors killed multiple Philistine giants of the Rephaim lineage.
