Accusation or captivity (disputed)

Summary

A Benjamite, the sixth son of Shaharaim by his wife Hodesh, listed in the genealogies of Benjamin.

Genealogy

Shachia was the sixth named of seven sons of Shaharaim, a Benjamite, by his wife Hodesh. The name appears in variant forms in the Hebrew manuscripts—the marginal reading gives 'Shokyah' while the main text has 'Shobyah,' leading to uncertainty about the exact form. The Septuagint and Vulgate support the latter, while some manuscripts support the former.
