Semachiah

“Sustained of Jehovah”

Semachiah was the sixth and last named son of Shemaiah, who was himself a son of the blessed Obed-edom. He lived around 1013 BC and served as part of the Korahite family of gatekeepers in the temple service organized by David. The family of Obed-edom was specially blessed because the ark of the covenant had rested in their house.
