Summary
Ozni was a son of Gad and founder of the Oznite family, one of the clans numbered in the wilderness census.
☩Identity
Ozni was one of the sons of Gad, Jacob's seventh son by Zilpah. He is called Ezbon in Genesis but Ozni in Numbers, where his descendants are identified as the Oznites. The Oznite clan was among those counted in the second census of Israel on the plains of Moab before entering Canaan. Like the other sons of Gad, Ozni's descendants received their inheritance east of the Jordan River.
