☩The Conspiracy Against Nehemiah
Shemaiah son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabeel, was hired by Tobiah and Sanballat to frighten Nehemiah. He proposed that Nehemiah hide with him in the temple to escape an alleged assassination plot, but Nehemiah recognized this as a scheme to make him sin and discredit his leadership. Nehemiah refused, declaring that a man in his position should not flee or enter the temple unlawfully.
