Summary
Mebunnai was one of David's mighty men, a Hushathite also known as Sibbecai (or Sibbechai), who slew a Philistine giant.
☩Identity and Deeds
Mebunnai appears in one list of David's mighty warriors as a Hushathite. Elsewhere he is called Sibbecai (or Sibbechai), and is credited with killing Saph (or Sippai), one of the descendants of the Philistine giants, in a battle at Gob. He also served as captain of the eighth monthly course of David's army, commanding 24,000 men. The variation in his name is attributed to scribal differences in transmission.
