Summary

Maadai was an Israelite of the family of Bani who divorced his foreign wife after the return from Babylonian exile.

Maadai is listed among those who responded to Ezra's call to separate from their foreign wives, which had been taken in violation of the Law. He was among the 'sons of Bani,' a designation that may refer either to descendants of Bani or residents of a location associated with that name.
