Hushah
חוּשָׁה/HYOO-shuh/
“Haste”
Summary
Hushah was a descendant of Judah through Hur, being the son of Ezer and possibly the founder of a family or place from which the term "Hushathite" derived.
☩Genealogy
Hushah appears in the genealogies of Judah as the son of Ezer and grandson of Hur. He is mentioned in 1 Chronicles 4:4 among the descendants of Judah. The term "Hushathite," used to describe certain of David's warriors, likely derives from Hushah, indicating either descendants of this man or inhabitants of a place named after him. Some scholars suggest he may be the same person called Shuah in 1 Chronicles 4:11.
